Esta pintura comenzó como un ejercicio con colores nuevos para mí — naranjas y bronce metálico. Empezó como un rostro de perfil y terminó como un personaje. Le di un nombre, Max, porque cada rostro que emerge merece ser alguien.

This painting began as an exercise with colors that were new to me — oranges and metallic bronze. It started as a face in profile and became a character. I gave him a name, Max, because every face that emerges deserves to be someone.

Esta pintura la comencé en el enamoramiento que me ocurrió al trabajar con colores tierra. Fue un proceso en el que pinté con paz en mi corazón. Lo llamé Smiling Eagle, emulando los nombres nativos americanos, conectados con la naturaleza.

I began this painting in the quiet love affair I fell into when I started working with earth tones. It was a process I painted with peace in my heart. I called him Smiling Eagle, echoing Native American names, connected to nature.

A man beneath the brim of his hat, his face nearly hidden, the red scarf burning against the earth tones. I called him Milton — a cowboy who keeps his gaze to himself, like those men of few words and many roads traveled.

Un rostro de perfil, la piel trabajada con textura, sobre un rojo profundo. Es un retrato del que se siente distinto — de quien lleva por fuera una coraza, y por dentro la misma necesidad de ser mirado con calma.

A face in profile, the skin worked with texture, over a deep red. It is a portrait of the one who feels different — of someone who wears an armor on the outside, and inside holds the same need to be looked at gently.

Un hombre mayor, su mate en la mano, perdido en un momento tranquilo. Lo pinté con la calidez de los recuerdos del campo — el azul de su ropa contra la tierra roja, esa quietud de quien ya no tiene prisa.

An older man, his mate in hand, lost in a quiet moment. I painted him with the warmth of countryside memories — the blue of his clothing against the red earth, the stillness of someone who is no longer in a hurry.

A woman in red, seated with the freedom of someone alone in her own home. She has no face because she does not need one — she is any woman in that intimate instant when no one is watching and she can finally just be.

I wanted to capture the elegance of a woman's back — and everything that back carries. The weight, the grace, the silent strength that so many women hold every day without anyone seeing it.

The body reduced to its essential line — golden light and black shadow, nothing more. I wanted to see how much can be said of a woman with the least possible: only the curve, only the gesture of the back.

A figure traced in white lines over darkness — fragile and firm at once. I painted her thinking of purity and quiet reserve, of that silent strength that holds even when everything around is black.

An enormous golden tooth over a deep wine background. I took a humble, almost uncomfortable object and made it a monument — because sometimes the smallest, most forgotten part of the body deserves, for once, to be the center of everything.
